Why would you want a dual top cage
(playtop over 1/2 the cage and a dome top over the other half)? For the same
reason you might want a Sport - Utility Vehicle,
you want the best of both worlds the Sport part AND the Utility
part. Birds like to reside in the upper section of a cage. Dome tops the
Sport part afford up high room.
You'll find the bird will always sleep in the dome part of a dual top cage
because it's higher. He or she can come down to the mid level of the cage and
have lots of room for wing spreading, feeding and general movement about the
cage. Most dual top cages have either a drop down door in the front or an
opening dome for the bird to exit the cage. Once out, he or she can maneuver to
the Play top or Utility part for nibbling on treats held in the
feeder cups usually attached to the playtop perch bar. Some cages like this
Kings ELTPC-4226 have a toy hook and ladder to provide addition
entertainment. The playtop has a tray over the cage roof to help keep things
tidy while the dome top area lets in lots of healthy light
