Can Extended Loud Noises Hurt Your Birds Ears?

Read in 6 minutes

Editor’s note: full transparency, I don’t think we’ve ever covered the subject of pet birds and hearing.

Once again a loyal reader comes through with a potentially serious issue that until now we have left opaque.

Many of us take for granted that our birds can hear but exactly how good is their hearing, how has it evolved and how do they use it?

When Environmental Accidents Stress A Pet Bird To The Breaking Point

Read in 19 minutes

A couple of weeks ago we talked about “You Are Sick With No Caique Caregiver – Now What?

In this follow up thread we learn that “yes, it can always be worse.”

Hello Catherine,

Hyacinth macaws are up to 44 inches long – 4 times the size of a noble macaw.

You can’t compare the two just because the are macaws.

I hope you can help me.

I have an 8 yr. old white-bellied Caique.

Conrad has owned me since he was 3 months old.

I am also a strong proponent of flighted birds (seems to me they were made that way), so Conrad is fully-flighted.
